چکیده

In this work, we obtain lower and upper bounds on the maximal transmission rate at a given codeword length n, average probability of error and power constraint P̄ , over a block fading additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel with channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter and the receiver. These bounds characterize deviation of the finite blocklength coding rates from the channel capacity which is in turn achieved by the water filling power allocation across time. The bounds obtained also characterize the rate enhancement possible due to the CSI at the transmitter in the finite blocklength regime. The results are further elucidated via numerical examples.

Exponential Diversity Achieving Spatio-Temporal Power Allocation Scheme for Fading Channels

In this paper, we analyze optimum (in space and time) adaptive power transmission policies for fading channels when the channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter (CSIT) and receiver (CSIR) is available. The transmitter has a long-term (time) average power constraint. There can be multiple antennas at the transmitter and receiver. The channel experiences Rayleigh fading. We consider bea...

Degrees of Freedom of the Broadcast Channel with Hybrid CSI at Transmitter and Receivers

In general the different links of a broadcast channel may experience different fading dynamics and, potentially, unequal or hybrid channel state information (CSI) conditions. The faster the fading and the shorter the fading block length, the more often the link needs to be trained and estimated at the receiver, and the more likely that CSI is stale or unavailable at the transmitter. Disparity o...

Limiting performance of block-fading channels with multiple antennas

We study the performance limits of a radio system consisting of a transmitter with t antennas and a receiver with r antennas over a block-fading additive white Gaussian noise channel. We derive the optimal coding scheme minimizing the information outage probability and analyze its performance in terms of outage probability and delay-limited capacity. We show that, asymptotically, the delay-limi...

The Capacity Region of Fading Multiple-Access Relay Channels with Common Information

In this paper, we derive a capacity region for Gaussian fading multiple access degraded relay channel with partial channel state information (CSI) at the transmitters (CSIT) and perfect CSI at the receiver (CSIR). The achievable rate region obtained by Kramer-Wijngaarden is a special case of our region. Keywords-Gaussian fading channel; channel state information (CSI); discrete multiple access ...

Network Coherence Time Matters - Aligned Image Sets and the Degrees of Freedom of Interference Networks with Finite Precision CSIT and Perfect CSIR

This work obtains the first bound that is provably sensitive to network coherence time, i.e., coherence time in an interference network where all channels experience the same coherence patterns. This is accomplished by a novel adaptation of the aligned image sets bound, and settles various open problems noted previously by Naderi and Avestimehr and by Gou et al. For example, a necessary and suf...
